Jason McMinimee

Jason is a registered Physiotherapist who graduated from Sydney University obtaining a M. Phty and a current member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association. He has also completed a B.ExSc at ACU completing registration as an Exercise Physiologist and a current member of Exercise Sports Science Australia. He has completed university placements at both Westmead and Gosford Hospitals completing rotations in ICU, CCU, Outpatients, Orthopaedics, fracture clinic and Geriatric care. He has been in private practice for the last 8 years.

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy:

Jason is qualified in the assessment and management of musculoskeletal disorders for all ages from an acute sports setting through to chronic overuse injuries and chronic pain disorders.

He regularly treats:

  • Neck pain/Headaches
  • Shoulder pain
  • Lower Back pain
  • Hip & Pelvic girdle pain
  • Knee & lower limb injuries
  • Ankle/foot pain and lower limb biomechanics.

Jason has a particular interest in the management of acute lower back pain and the long term management of chronic low back pain disorders. The use of cognitive behavioral therapy, physiotherapy and exercise therapy are a combined approach which more and more research is finding has improved long term outcomes. There is considerable evidence that when people have chronic low back pain (CLBP), several factors can be involved in delaying their recovery and ability to enjoy a good quality of life (See pain-ed.com).

Acute Physiotherapy and Exercise Rehabilitation:

  • Surgical/Post-operative Physiotherapy including arthroscopic and open surgery/Joint replacement.
  • Waterproof fiberglass casting post fracture
  • Fitting of Splints/Braces/Crutches
  • Geriatric exercise/Falls Prevention
  • Cardiopulmonary and Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy
  • Exercise prescription for long term health and prevention of injury

Outside the clinic, Jason loves spending time with his wife Kate, their friends and family. He is a passionate Footballer, having worked previously on staff with the Central Coast Mariners. He enjoys the Coasts beaches, middle distance running and resistance training with a purpose.
